I'm reading aloud to my class.
Someone comes in to check on the quality of the lesson.
What does it look as though my pupils are doing?
It doesn't 'look' as though they are 'doing' anything.
Yet, it's all happening internally.
They are thinking hard.
We have got to be so careful of proxies for learning, where pupils look busy and engaged in order to provide evidence...
